Winter Update – We’d Love Your Help & Feedback

Hey all! Happy New Year from all of us here at Beaver Builder. We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and managed to get some relaxation and recharge time during the winter months.

To kick off the new year, we have a big favor to ask. To get a better understanding of you—the person using our software—we whipped up a short survey. Your feedback will assist us in making informed decisions about new features, the product roadmap, and ways we can better serve you.

Our dev team has been hard at work putting polish on our upcoming release. Page Builder 2.8, “Alpine” is a major update that features CSS Grid and Flexbox support via the “Box” module. Global Styles are also coming to Beaver Builder, and much-requested popup functionality will be possible through an integration with the Popup Maker plugin.

Our content team has produced a few videos and a course showcasing new ways to work with Beaver Kit, the template pack we released earlier this year on Assistant Pro.

2.8 “Alpine” – A major Page Builder update 📦

We’re making great progress on 2.8 “Alpine,” and we expect to release the update very soon.

We discussed the Box module a bit in our last update post. It’s going to represent a big shift in what’s possible to create with Beaver Builder. If you missed it, Brent published an in-depth look at the Box module, going over its capabilities. More educational content on how to use the Box module will be released over the next few weeks.

We anticipate you quickly developing new “best practices” for building site design elements with the Box module. In the spirit of open source and collaboration, we encourage everyone to share these creations on Assistant Pro! If you don’t have an account yet, be sure to set one up.

Global Styles, Global Colors, and popup functionality via an integration with the Popup Maker plugin are also coming in 2.8. The free version of Beaver Builder will receive a small upgrade, incorporating some premium modules, including Box, Callout, Menu, Button Group, and Number Counter modules.

A comprehensive 2.8 blog post will be available very soon. Until then, we’d appreciate it if you try the beta version and let us know about any feedback or issues. Beta versions are available on your account page.

Free wireframing course using Beaver Kit 👩‍🏫

More and more people are turning to Beaver Kit to quickly create wireframes and streamline their development and design processes. Wireframing enables rapid prototyping and facilitates client understanding and feedback on the overall structure before diving into visual details.

Beaver Kit comprises over 100 wireframe row templates that we launched on Assistant Pro. Discover more about it on our website or in a new free course available in our courses library.

We’d love your feedback on ideas for the future…

As we wrap up version 2.8 and start contemplating our focus for the next year, a few ideas have been percolating. The major goals we’re striving for include making Beaver Builder more performant, embracing and promoting modern and unique web design trends, and working towards better integration with WordPress’ Full Site Editor and Block paradigm. We have some experimental internal projects taking shape on both of these fronts.

First, we’re initiating work on a new, lightweight theme that supports Full Site Editing. While our trusty Beaver Builder Theme has been a workhorse powering hundreds of thousands of websites, we will continue to support it but are also exploring the idea of releasing a modernized alternative.

Additionally, we’re developing infrastructure to support “Hybrid Modules,” enabling Beaver Builder modules to be used in the block editor. As the core WordPress editing experience continues to mature, we envision a future where modules and blocks become more interchangeable, allowing users to choose their preferred editor based on the situation.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Leave a comment, find us on Facebook, or reach out to us on X!

Beaver Builder in the wild 🦫

A big thanks to everyone who invited us to contribute to their blog posts and podcasts! We love chatting about WordPress, SASS, and entrepreneurial lifestyles, and we’d be delighted to be guests on your show!

I recently had the opportunity to participate in two podcasts. Our good friend Anil Gupta of Multicolab invited me to talk about some of the adventures and challenges of scaling Beaver Builder on their podcast, Peaceful Growth.

I joined a new friend, Sanjay Parekh, on the Side Hustle to Small Business podcast. Together, we took a “trip down memory lane,” sharing stories about taking risks and creating a work-life balance during the early years of transitioning from a web design agency to a SASS business.

Lastly, thanks a ton to Roberto Popolizo for the opportunity to give a written interview with websiteplanet.com.

Feel free to reach out if you’re recruiting guests for a podcast or interview series! On a personal note, I’m currently transitioning to a new home and office in Petaluma, CA, and I’ve been gradually improving and upgrading my AV setup! 🎥

Please take our survey 🙏🏼

To wrap up, we’d like to mention our 2024 user survey once again. It consists of a mix of quick multiple-choice questions along with a few optional long-form questions. It won’t take much time to complete.

It’s mind-boggling, but Beaver Builder is going to celebrate its 10th birthday this year in April! Throughout all that time, admittedly, it has been challenging to keep a finger on the pulse of what you, our customers, are thinking and desiring from our software. This survey will significantly assist us in formulating our strategy for the next 10 years.

We deeply appreciate your support and understand the gravity of this milestone. We wouldn’t have come this far without you!

Im looking forward to seeing how you work with FSE and blocks. I would rather stick with the team I trust than look for a new framework.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate BB taking their time to release polished tested products rather than 1st to market gimmicks.

I’m very excited about the prospect of using BB modules in Gutenberg/FSE and using Blocks within BB. I have been thinking about this since the early days of Gutenberg.

Can you simplifiy in few words what’s the main advantage value of using Box module instead of rows ? Isn’t it the same bottom line results ?

Wishing you all a fantastic 2024 from your fellow beavers! I hope the holidays were restful and rejuvenating.

That survey sounds great! I’m always happy to share my thoughts and help shape the future of Beaver Builder. Can’t wait to see what exciting features are brewing based on our feedback.

The 2.8 update looks incredible! CSS Grid and Flexbox support through the “Box” module opens up a whole new world of design possibilities. Global Styles and popup integration with Popup Maker are absolute game-changers too.

And thanks for the heads-up about the Beaver Kit resources! I’m eager to dive into those videos and the new course. Learning fresh ways to work with such a powerful tool is always exciting.

Overall, this post is a fantastic way to kick off the year! Clear communication, exciting updates, and a call to action – it’s got everything.

    Here are some additional thoughts:

You could ask a specific question about the survey to spark discussion. Like, “What aspect of Beaver Builder are you most interested in providing feedback on?”
Sharing your own excitement about a specific feature in the update could encourage others to chime in.
Mentioning any past positive experiences you’ve had with Beaver Kit could add a personal touch and encourage others to explore it.
But even as it is, your comment is fantastic! Thanks for keeping the Beaver Builder community informed and engaged.

I hope you have a fantastic year ahead!
