Hi, I am just a beginner, Have WP with Blue Host. I ´ve been trying to learn the basics for more than 6 months with little progress. Which program would you recommend for someone who is just beginning and have very little knowledge.
From what I have read above, WordPress 101 for Beginners would be the one. Do you agree?
    Thanks

Hey Anthony, thanks for the great article. I’ve already tapped into several of the resources you mention above. So far, all hood stuff! My question for you is, I am currently a begginer and am trying to establish enough knowledge and experience to begin a business creating websites for people and businesses within specific niches. I was wondering if there were any courses either mentioned above or otherwise that you may know of that delve into some of the topics associated with this plan?

  10. Vikas Sudan on October 1, 2019 at 7:06 am

Is there any free course for WordPress beginners? If yes Please let me know and i want to create my new website for my digital marketing business.

    • Anthony Tran on October 7, 2019 at 8:13 am

Hi Vikas, the tutorials listed are all paid courses. We like to share paid courses because you can reach out to a support team if you have questions. Also, a paid course creator is more likely to keep the material up to date. You can try YouTube or Udemy for some possible free courses.

      • Vikas sudan on October 20, 2020 at 12:06 am

        Thank you for your suggestion…

  11. Annie on October 8, 2019 at 3:09 pm

Update on Treehouse – they are no longer offering their WordPress track and sadly they left their users in the dark by cancelling the series with very little notice to users. Just shot part of their credibility down the gutter in my opinion. Sad 🙁

    • Anthony Tran on October 9, 2019 at 6:49 am

Wow that’s shocking! Having taken the WordPress course personally on Treehouse… it was really well done. Thanks for the heads up and will work on updating the post.

  12. Jaki on October 24, 2019 at 10:33 am

Thanks for sharing the info! Just what I’ve been looking for.

  15. Joquim on April 28, 2021 at 6:15 am

This guide was very helpful because it assisted me in so many ways since I’m new in web design but willing to be better. I have a quick question that I wonder if you could answer. I’ve set up Woocommerce because I might be selling things in the future but am not right now. WordPress still has the shopping cart icon on my home menu and I’m not sure how to get that off for now. Any thoughts?

    • Jennifer Franklin on May 19, 2021 at 2:20 pm

Hi Joquim, I think this might help: the cart icon will be displayed automatically if WooCommerce plugin is active. If you are not selling any products or using WooCommerce yet, you can deactivate it from WP-ADMIN > PLUGINS. The cart icon should be removed automatically. Hope this helps!
